LiftCalc is an easy-to use program that helps calculate lifting limits using parameters established in
MIL-STD 1472F.
To use it, simply click here and input values.
Click the "Calculate" button to calculate lifting limits from one to six lifters. |
LiftCalc was programmed by Don Goddard, United State Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Note that LiftCalc bases calculations on a very simple decision-making matrix. Due to the complexity of many manual material handling tasks, it is possible that LiftCalc could underestimate results. This kind of error may result in overloading lifters or possibly injury.
LiftCalc results should be not be used as a substitute for a detailed task analysis performed by a properly trained professional. The USACHPPM is not responsible for misapplication of the LiftCalc results. |

The lifting material that LiftCalc is based can be found in paragraph 5.9.11.3 of the standard. |
